How do I register?
You can register by emailing the Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart. An evaluation must be done before any registration can be processed.
How much do the programs cost?
Group swim lessons are charged monthly on the first of every month:
Residents: $55
Aquatic Members (Non-Residents): $72
Frozen Jets are charged monthly on the first of every month.
Residents: $80
Aquatic Members (Non-Residents): $94
I am not a resident of Ashburn Village, are we still able to enroll in your program?
Absolutely! Please contact the Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart, with the following information: Child(ren) full name, DOB, address, and phone number.
An Aquatics Membership, free of charge, will be created for you. This membership will allow you to manage your payment option for the program you are enrolled in.
How many lessons do I get for my monthly payment?
Each month you will have a minimum of 4 lessons. Some months you will get 5 lessons based on the number of days there is in that month. For example, I register for Tuesdays. One month there are only four Tuesdays in a month, so I only will receive 4 lessons that month for my payment. Then the next month, there are five Tuesdays in the month. This is considered a “bonus” lesson, and no additional payment will be taken.
How do I make my monthly payments?
Your payment will be automatically charged on the first of each month for that month’s payment. When enrolling in the program, you authorize Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion to initial and debit entries to the credit card you have added to your account.
What happens if my monthly payment is declined?
If the monthly fee is declined, a late fee of $15 will be applied to your monthly charge. If the payment and late fee are not received by the 7th of the month to bring the account current, the child(ren) will be removed from the program and added to the waiting list. The child(ren) can be reenrolled in the program once their account is current and no longer has any outstanding fees.
What if my child needs to move up a level or our schedule changes? How would we change
classes?
If an entire class is ready to be moved up, the instructor will contact the Director of Swim Programs and the entire class will be moved up in the system. If just one swimmer in the class is ready to be moved up, the instructor will contact the Director of Swim Programs, and the next level day and time options will be emailed to the swimmer that needs to be moved up. If your schedule changes and you need to change your swimmers day/time, please email the Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart, with your child’s name and level. Class options will be emailed to you.
Please do not request these changes to be made at the front desk, the front desk at this time is not able to make any changes to your child’s swim class. All changes can only be done by the Director of Swim Programs.
Can I only start a class at the beginning of the month?
No! Please email the Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart, with your child’s name and and desired class code you would like to register for. You will be prorated for that month’s lessons when you join after the first of the month.
Do you offer make-ups?
No, we do not offer makeup lessons. If AVSP needs to cancel a class due to a holiday, weather, or pool maintenance a refund will be given for that class missed.
Does the schedule stay the same year-round?
We try to keep the schedule consistent from September-May. Additional classes may be added as pool space becomes available. During the summer months more lessons are added during the mornings and afternoons. Summer evening schedules may also change slightly. Any changes in your schedule will be emailed to you a minimum of two weeks prior to any schedule change.
Does my child’s instructor stay the same every month?
The instructors listed on the class offerings are the instructors for that month. We try and keep instructors consistent as much as possible. Whenever a new instructor will be taking over a class, they will come to meet the students 1-2 times prior to taking over the classes. If instructors are changing for the month, they will be listed on the latest class offerings.
How do I cancel my lesson?
The Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart, needs to be contacted by the 15th of the month prior to wanting to stop payments.
Do you offer refunds?
Unfortunately, after a month of lessons are paid for, there are no refunds unless a doctor’s note is supplied stating the reason the swimmer is unable to attend. All questions regarding refunds should be directed towards the Director of Swim Programs, Kristina Hart.
My child(ren) needs an evaluation. How do I get one scheduled.
Please contact Emily Dawson for Group Swim Evaluations and Andrew Patterson for Frozen Jets Evaluations.
