Monika Hooper was born in Krakow, Poland. She came to the US (Chicago ) at age 9 and began playing tennis. She started teaching tennis while still competing in high school. As a senior, she accepted a scholarship to play tennis at Valparaiso University in Indiana. During her college years, Monika still found time to teach tennis while home on breaks and later, while pursuing her career in finance.

In 2008, Monika moved to the DC area and took a break from teaching tennis to start her family. She began teaching again in 2019 when she joined AVSP as a part time pro.

Monika is passionate about teaching players of all ages to enjoy, love, and excel in the sport that brings her so much joy.
