Gerhard was born and raised in Accra, Ghana. He is a USPTA certified tennis professional with many years of experience in the industry. Prior to his coaching career, Gerhard was a student athlete at Wartburg College. Following his collegiate career, he was an assistant coach for women’s tennis at University of Northern Iowa. One of Gerhard’s best attributes as a tennis professional is his ability to coach players at all ages and all levels. His playing history equips him with the knowledge to work with the most advanced players of the game. While his likeable personality and ability to make learning tennis fun is what makes him a favorite amongst more novice players. Throughout his career, Gerhard has worked with many adults and juniors at clubs and in camps across the country. He has coached numerous adult teams to the USTA National Championships, and has worked to develop junior tennis players at the High-Performance level.
