FAQ: Racquet Sports

How do I register?

ASVP Members must use the Member Portal to register for all programming.

MEMBER REGISTRATION

  • Residents are able to sign up for classes on the 1st of the month, prior to the start of the session. ORMs may sign up on the 15th of the month before the start of the session.
  • Participants can register online, via the app or by calling the front desk.
  • Registrations after the start of a session will be prorated classes based on the number of weeks remaining.
  • AVSP pro staff reserves the right to place students in the proper class level based on skill requirements. A student may be asked to move to a more compatible class.
  • USTA rated players should register for classes at their NTRP level.  AVSP pro staff reserves the right to move players to a class more suitable for their skill level.

I am not a resident of Ashburn Village, are we still able to enroll in your program?

Absolutely! Purchase an Outside Racquet Membership (ORM) and get access to all of our racquet sports programs! ORM’s are offered monthly or annually, and they are required in order to join our programming, book a court or take a lesson.

  • Family: $60 per month or $450 annually
  • Adult: $35 per month or $250 annually
  • Junior: $20 per month or $175 annually (Tiny-HS Team)

How much do the programs cost?

Program Fee’s (Junior & Adult)

60 Min Price Per Person

  • Resident: $26/hr 
  • ORM: $30/hr

90 Min Price Per Person

  • Resident: $39/hr 
  • ORM: $45/hr 

*Cancellations within 24-hours and no shows will be charged the full rate. Regardless of the arrival time, session will end at the scheduled time.


Drop-In Rates

60 Min Price Per Person

  • Resident: $30/hr 
  • ORM: $32/hr

90 Min Price Per Person

  • Resident: $45/hr 
  • ORM: $48/hr

Is your program year round?

Yes! Along with our 2 outdoor courts, AVSP has 4 courts covered year round in our indoor tennis bubble which is cooled during the summer and heated during the winter.

*Please note, in cases of extreme outside temperatures, the temperature inside the bubble may vary.

What time are the courts available to reserve private spots?

Members may reserve courts 7 days in advance (5 days for ORMs).

  • Monday – Thursday: 5:00am – 9:30pm
  • Friday – 5:00am – 9:00pm
  • Saturday – 6:00am – 6:00pm
  • Sunday – 7:00am – 6:00pm

  • Standard | 8:00am – 9:30pm/9pm (M-Th/Fri) | $32 mem $40 ORM

Can you repair my racquet?

Yes! AVSP offers full-service racquet stringing and grip replacement. Please drop off and pick up racquets at the front desk. Please consult a tennis staff member for recommendations. There is a 72-hour turnaround on racquets.

Repairs Include:

  • Labor Only $20 Labor
  • String $40 (pro-premium), $35 (mid-grade) | *48 hr Turnaround +$10, *24 hr Turnaround +$15
  • Overgrip $3
  • Replacement grip $15
Important Program Policies

Program Makeups & Refunds

Makeups

Our staff, court schedules, and class curriculum are carefully planned based on roster sizes. To reduce disruptions to our students and staff, we encourage you to attend your registered classes. However, we understand that occasionally, players may need to miss a class. To ensure fairness and minimize disruption, we will consider makeup requests submitted to the tennis department via email at tennis@ashburnvillage.org before the absence. One free makeup class, per session will be granted based on availability in a comparable class.

  • Each player will be granted one (1) free makeup per session, if a comparable class is available.
  • A $10 administrative fee will be charged for each additional scheduled makeup without a doctor’s note.
  • All makeups must be scheduled within the current session.
  • No refunds or credits will be granted for missed classes without a doctor’s note.
  • Refunds after the start of a session will only be granted with a doctor’s note or in the event the player is moving from the area.

Guests

A Member may invite a Guest, space permitting to participate for an additional Guest Fee of $10 per visit. The Member will be charged for the class/lesson & guest fees if a credit card is not provided by the Guest

Camp & Academies Refunds & Cancellations

  • To obtain a full refund, refund requests must be submitted 1 week prior to the day camp begins. Refund requests submitted within 1 week of the first day camp begins, will incur a 50% penalty per camp session.  No refunds will be given on or after the first day of the camp session without a doctor’s note.  
  • Full refunds will be issued if a camp program is canceled.
  • With a doctor’s note, medical refunds are only granted if they require a full withdrawal from the remainder of the session. Refunds will be prorated from the last class prior to the injury/illness and before the mid-point of the program.
  • For academies, inclement weather refunds will not be given unless two or more days per session are canceled.
